Overnight Villa Rosa di Boscorotondo, located in the heart of Chianti

From the Villa Rosa we will move farther south, to Rocca d’Orcia, where we will spend the next four evenings. Day trips allow us to visit a number of Tuscany’s most picturesque towns. Your photo leaders will plan each day according to the weather, interests of the group, and special events in this beautiful region. We won’t be able to visit each town, but will take time to appreciate those that we do. Two overnights Villa Rosa (breakfast and dinner) and San Simeone, (breakfast daily, two dinners)

October 23 Florence. Overnight Torre Guelfa (breakfast)

October 24 Return to the USA

Tuition $4,995 US Dollars based upon minimum of 11 paying participants. There is a small group surcharge of $500 if 8-10 paying participants. Based on double occupancy unless noted in exceptions.

Our journey will begin in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Oaxaca and continue on to the Pueblo Mágico of of San Cristobal de las Casas. From there we will visit the picturesque Mayan ruins at Palenque in the steamy jungle of Chiapas. We return to Oaxaca at the end of the tour.

Jan 11 - All day drive to San Cristóbal de las Casas. 600km. Overnight Hotel Ciudad Real

Jan 12 - Explore San Crisobal. Overnight Hotel Ciudad Real

Jan 13 - Drive to Palenque. 230km. Visit Mayan Ruins. Overnight Hotel Ciudad Real, Palenque

Jan 14 - Return to San Cristobal. Overnight Hotel Ciudad Real

Day 1 Depart US. Arrive San José. Overnight Holiday Inn Aurola

Day 2 Travel to Xandari 7km north of Alajuela in the Central Valley. Overnight Xandari Plantation Hotel

Day 3 Early morning departure to Volcán Poás. Then we will visit the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Overnight Xandari Plantation Hotel

Day 4 Travel to Arenal. Overnight Arenal Observatory Lodge

Day 5 Travel around the Arenal region. We will visit the newly established Arenal Hanging Bridges. Afternoon Canopy Tour with ziplines. Overnight Arenal Observatory Lodge

Day 6 Travel to Monteverde. Overnight Mirador Lodge Cabins

Day 7 We will spend the day exploring the Santa Elena Cloudforest Reserve. Hopefully we will see the resplendant quetzal which will be nesting during this period. Overnight Mirador Lodge Cabins

Day 8 We will spend the morning at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. During the afternoon we will visit the Monteverde Butterfly Garden. Overnight Mirador Lodge Cabins

Day 9 Return to San José. Overnight Holiday Inn Aurola

Day 10 Depart for US
